The first design of the OT 1300 dates from 1965. 50 cars were produced exclusively for the purpose of driving on circuits. The OT of our Scuderia is one of two still existing cars we are aware of, which was transformed from a circuit Abarth into a rally car, the other one was exported to America. The base of the OT is of the Fiat 850. The motor is a completely Abarth product, rear, longitudinal 4 cylinders in line - bore and stroke 86 x 55,5 mm - 2 double weber carburators - 9000 rpm - top speed of 240 km – F.I.A. homologation Nr.229 – FIVA Id.card Nr.23677.
The Scuderia was originally founded in 1963 under the name of Scuderia: Formula Libre.
During the years 1960/70/80 the cars belonging to the Scuderia were used for cicuit racing and not rallying, and they took place in national as well as international racing.
When the big sponsering entered the race world, the amateur had hardly any chance and due to the professionals the atmosphere of kind-heartedness changed into cold calculated racing and so our Scuderia had to retire…
But since 1994 we are back, now with oldtimers and only for national and international rallying under the new name:
SCUDERIA : LA FORTUNA
The aim of the Scuderia is to promote oldtimers in general, with a special accent on, and a great love for ABARTH.
